Dogs are an essential part of today's family and can play a key role in a truck driver's life. Fortunately, truck stops are taking notice of the number of dogs that travel with truck drivers by offering dog parks across the country. Below is just a small sampling!
Love's Travel Stops
According to a press release, Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores is slated to have more than 150 dog parks at their locations throughout the country. Not only is the company continuing to retrofit its existing locations, but every new Love's Travel Stop location will also feature a dog park. Of course, this service is in addition to its array of other amenities such as private showers, laundry facilities and Wi-Fi at certain locations.
As an example, the following locations have dog parks:
- Sidney, Ohio
- Orangeburg, South Carolina
- Charleston, Tennessee
- Willow Springs, Missouri
- Choctaw, Oklahoma
- Dillion, South Carolina
Florida 595 Truck Stop
Given that the famous Florida 595 Truck Stop is the largest on the East Coast, and offers a boggling array of amenities, it should be no surprise to learn that it's also a welcoming stop for your canine companion as well. Located in Davie, the truck stop covers 44 acres near the Florida Turnpike.
Sacramento 49er Travel Plaza
The Sacramento 49er Travel Plaza is the complete set-up in one convenient location: hotel, delicious food, WiFi and a place to wash your dog. Just look for the huge 49er sign at Exit 85 off I-80.
TravelCenters of America
TravelCenters of America is another company that caters to truck drivers who travel with their dogs. With nearly 200 dog-friendly locations that criss-cross the United States, it's obvious that TravelCenters of America welcome today's truck drivers as they continue to evolve. Various options for dining, mechanical issues and medical services are also available at select locations. A small sampling of their locations with dog parks includes:
